In this role I get to lead and collaborate on efficacy research that tells the story of how education products can improve education for students, classrooms, and communities.

In this role I advise the CEO and leaders on data insights, partnering with individuals at every layer of the organization. I serve as the PI or Co-PI for grant work. In collaboration with leaders I prepare, revise and support MP Strategic Data Review and analyses for school administrators, develop and implement a strategy for further efficacy research, and analyze, as well as, publish study results.

In this role I collaborate in designing and developing innovative work related to education. I work with leaders across the organization and country to craft key tenants of successful innovation, explore potential innovative projects, and help evaluate project progress to understand impact on students and systems. I also serve as a liaison with NWEA’s State and Policy Advocacy team, as well as design evaluations and lead teams to evaluate innovative prototypes. I providing relevant data and insights to leadership, preparing executive communications and thought leadership pieces, and overseeing processes related to innovative performance metric systems. Some highlights from this role include developing a robust job training program, building a concept-to-practice innovative pipeline, seeking and obtaining grant funding, creating strategic industry wide and intra-organization connections for the purposes of innovative joint ventures.

As a research scientist I work with a variety of stakeholders to conduct high quality research on topics related to education. I have the opportunity to help study the ramifications of policy, suggest new practice and policy, and create meaningful pathways to better education for all. This role allows me to partner with others in creating a more equitable PK-16 education system.Some highlights from this role include presenting to senior Department of Education and White House staff members, coordinating and presenting to state superintendents and state specific Department of Education leaders, working directly with teachers, principals, and district leaders, and developing tools to assist in the dissemination of information on student achievement and growth.

This project included creating assessment rubrics, refining and further developing learning outcomes, collaborating in creating assessment timelines, evaluating ePortfolios and essays, developing analytics to produce predictive measures of success, creating an exit survey, and co-developing a first year report.
