Little Tree lived happily in a beautiful pot near a window looking out to a wondrous garden. She was well cared for, with all her needs tended to, in a safe and protected home.As she looked out on the big trees in the garden, she would sometimes feel her roots pushing against her pretty bonsai pot.One day everything changed; her home emptied of the people and furnishings that made inside feel so safe. Little Tree was left alone. The Gardener walked past her window, and seeing her abandoned, took her home and cared for her.Little Tree started to wonder if she could become like all the other trees in the garden. The Gardener observed this and offered to take her out of her safe, secure pot and guide her to become a big tree in the garden. The Gardener promised to support Little Tree as she experienced the blistering hot summers, the winds that tried to blow her over, the rain and the cold, making her feel scared, overwhelmed, and wishing for her old, comfortable existence. In time, Little Tree’s roots grew deeply, her branches became thick and strong, and she became the best that she could be, thriving in the garden where she had always belonged. The spirit of Tale of Little Tree underpins my partnership with ASX 200 companies and their leaders.
