The purpose of the Committee is to discuss the mutual problems of the various member agencies and to exchange information on changing technologies. It is the intent of the Committee to achieve this purpose through frank and open interchange at regularly scheduled meetings. It is the further intent of the Committee to inform its members of proposed work within the service areas of others, to promote damage prevention to underground and overhead facilities and use of the North Carolina One Call Center, the statewide one-call notification system.

Utilities Coordinator responsible for developing utility relocation strategies and providing coordination services to accomplish removal, relocation, and modification of utility facilities (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunication, etc.) impacted by highway improvement projects.Services included, development of a Utility Analysis & Routing Report, utility relocation schedules, utility plans and estimates. Authorized utility company relocations and administration of contracts consisting of utility relocation agreements for adjustments to existing and proposed facilities and encroachment contracts (permits for occupancy of highway right of way) due to highway construction. Implemented advanced engineering criteria and innovative construction methods in the coordination, relocation and placement of utilities along highway rights of way and proposed corridors while adhering to applicable environmental regulations and roadway design standards. Reviewed complex highway plans in various stages of completion for accuracy of utility data, conducted field inspections for verification of data contained therein, consulted with interdepartmental units, utility owners and consultants.

Responsible for plan review and preparation/submittal of estimates for underground utility placement, customer outreach for project sales and business development, preparation or review of specifications and contract terms, negotiation of contracts, project scheduling and man-day tracking as well as resolution of unforeseen issues as they arise in the field.Requirements include familiarity with local and state statutes and codes regarding utility placement and installation, ability to coordinate with various other utility companies and their contractors as well as the public and local or state officials. Currently using Bentley View V8i software to determine existing utility locations and project planning/placement diagrams for underground and aerial facility installations.

The City of Creedmoor Planning Board was created to provide for continuous, cooperative, comprehensive planning for the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. This Board was created pursuant to the authority of Article 19, Part 1, of Chapter 160A of the North Carolina General Statutes, Sections 361 and 387.
