Building a cybersecurity practice to protect Higher Education systems and beyond!

- Authored justification, oversight plan, and Assembly Bill language for Californialegislation to provide $75M one-time and $25M ongoing funding for cybersecurity and anti-fraud improvements. - Created and lead implementation efforts for strategic plan to establish critical cybersecurity services (including Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On, Identity Protection, Security Operations Center, etc.) for a vastly heterogeneous and non-centralized ecosystem of 116 California Community Colleges. - Led collaboration effort with stakeholders systemwide to institute an anti- fraud strategy that includes identity proofing within the context of a student application system that prioritizes equity and open access for all. - Established systemwide cybersecurity assessment process to both maintain legislative compliance and monitor systemwide maturity based on the CIS Security Controls. - Provided regular webinars and presentations on emerging Information Security topics such as risk management, ransomware prevention, security education, and incident response.

- Created, disseminated, implemented, and monitored strategic, comprehensive information security programs including improved threat modeling and risk management in extremely complex environments. - Researched and developed comprehensive technology solutions to improve cybersecurity maturity of the company's diverse client base including product requirements, technical specifications, go-to-market and business plan. - Developed, implemented, and maintained an internal information security program, which includes procedures and policies designed to protect internal systems and assets, while maintaining SOC 2 Compliance.
