I love progress.My strengths are in strategy, planning, partnerships and team leadership. I love developing projects and relationships, finding alignments to move organisations, departments, teams and individuals forwards. Not just forwards in any direction, but towards impact. My PhD once upon a time was in Latin and Greek, What's the link, you ask? Problem solving, critical thinking and project management skills, to name but a few! I've always loved getting beneath the surface of a problem quickly to diagnose it and make things better. Since then, I've recognised I love working with and getting the best out of others to transform projects, programmes and cultures.In all my roles, I’ve sought to make that difference. Highlights include:- Leading the Faculty of Arts’ research strategy process, including engaging external consultants, managing a range of stakeholders and relationships, identifying pivot points and risks. Alongside this, I led the impact and partnerships thematic area with an academic impact expert, creating a robust, clear and actionable framework that is used today.- Transforming an approach to employability provision in Bristol University's academic schools. I led the introduction of Employability Partnership Agreements which combined clear management information with the local intelligence gained from new relationships with schools. I adopted a learning and teaching approach to achieve curricular credibility and developed consultancy to optimise resource and support schools in their delivery. Trebling the team size in 5 years and winning a university award was recognition for the work.- Enhancing the university's UoB Internship Scheme to create a stronger, more financially sustainable model that better supported student experience and organisation understanding and compliance. Stakeholder satisfaction improved, and the number of opportunities increased by 50%.- Building strong teams, and using my coaching expertise. I love strategy, but culture still eats it for breakfast. I've always been interested in digital infrastructures. It’s taken a little while, but I’ve found my way back to this interest. I’m finding satisfaction in my (limited!) spare time learning Python and exploring its uses. I’m increasingly enjoying considering how technical applications can support the things I’m passionate about, and vice versa. It’s an environment I’d love to spend more time in.
