As a specialist in gearbox technology development, I bring a wealth of experience in advancing gear computing software and optimizing drivetrains for both traditional and novel applications. My current role involves developing in-house software to calculate essential gearbox parameters including geometry, efficiency, kinematics, life rating, mass, inertia, and cost. I leverage metaheuristic methods for shaft life and bearing optimization, synthesizing knowledge from textbooks, ISO protocols, bearing manufacturers, and research literature.With a background in tribology research during my master’s studies, I’ve formulated robust, application-agnostic gear analysis protocols that enhance our understanding and performance of complex systems. I am also spearheading the development of an in-house gearbox for robotic actuators, integrating my software with Romax analysis tools to push the boundaries of gearbox design and functionality.My expertise extends to geartrain assembly stiffness and backlash analysis using FEA, handling complex interactions involving numerous contacting surfaces and moving parts. Additionally, I am pioneering an open-source approach to geartrain finite element analysis through MATLAB, enabling efficient calculation of thousands of gearbox variants while circumventing the high costs of commercial software.Looking ahead, my goal is to continue my career in geartrain research and development, focusing on novel technologies, using my creative freedom to tackle the most challenging applications.
