During my time at BSQ I developed both my teaching and leadership skills. Covid-19 presented a unique opportunity to adapt to online and blended learning. As Key Stage 2 Lead, I have also advanced my leadership skills; learning to inspire and empower my team to try different pedagogical approaches through many different projects both as a group and within the whole school team. Within my first year of International experience I have gained advanced skills, valuable experiences and developed my teaching philosophy and style. Tracking progress of the students, formulate child centred plans with targets to increase their progress and implementing positive behaviour management plans .This year taught me that athough a British Curriculum is the main base for International schools, the culutre of the students and home country need to be embedded and relevant for the students.

Bournemouth Park is a school in a deprived area of the UK where children will often have diverse backgrounds and specific needs where I completed my time in a year 6 class. By the end of the year as a team we were able to gain exceptionally high SATs results including a special commendation from the moderation board on our clear understanding of the children.

Over the two consecutive summers I worked as an English as a second language (ESL) teacher and activity leader in Winchester, London and Oxford. My main role was to improve young adults' English language, spoken and written skills. Inspiring students aged 11 to 18 in the English language, culture and history through hands-on activities in the local communities, group projects using a range of technologies, written assignments and longer-term projects. In November 2015 I attended the Global Leader Academy, having been nominated for the top 100 out of 5,000 summer teachers.
