I man the domestic violence crisis line and assist in shelter intakes, as well as watch the cameras and assist the shelter clients with anything they may need, between supportive counseling to household items. I keep a steady inventory of all supplies and notify my supervisor if anything is getting low. I work extensively with clients to ensure that they get back on their feet after leaving their abuser, in a time frame that is comfortable for them and for us as an agency.

I assisted with transferring data from one database to another and shadowed a case manager through the 50B process. I had to leave this position to accept the full time shelter advocate position.

I work alongside my fellow trustees to uphold the core values of Sigma Alpha Omega, Christian Sorority on both a chapter and national level. In my position specifically, I connect with alumnae sisters nationwide to keep them involved in Sigma Alpha Omega post-grad. I oversee the National Alumnae Association and plan both virtual and in-person events where alumnae sisters can connect, fellowship and grow together.

I oversee two chapters for our national organization and stand in as their first point of contact to nationals. Chapters come to me regarding questions, problems with our national database, and conflict, just to name a few. I then point them in the right direction. I attend their weekly chapter meetings and give them pointers when consulted. I also give monthly reports to the Vice President of Mentors for both chapters to ensure that everyone is on the right track to complete their yearly, semesterly, and monthly national requirements.

I directed, designed and facilitated weekly business meetings. I collaborated with our National Organization almost daily and worked in coordination with them to design and implement new policies for our chapter. I participated on multiple boards and speaking panels to educate and advocate for not only our organization, but our council and greek life as a whole at Charlotte.

I established a new look for our social media and website and keep the public up to date on our chapter’s progress on campus. I maintained a steady look for our organization to the public eye and to campus as a whole.

I engaged with our chapter’s alumni and directed events specifically for them so that they stay involved in our organization, even after graduation.

I supervised and organized social events to deepen the connections between sisters.

I coordinated and oversaw multiple service projects in the Charlotte community. For example, we created hygiene and snack bags and passed them out to the homeless population in Uptown Charlotte. I also coordinated with charities and food banks, and organized food drives for them on campus.
