In the interest of health and sustainability, The Adams County Food Policy Council promotes the integration of the individual, community, the economy, and the environment. We engage with businesses, institutions, social service agencies, community members, the agricultural sector, and government to develop food policy and take action.In this role, I worked with council members to ensure a healthy, sustainable and affordable food system for Adams County residents. My work especially focused on increasing access to fresh, local and affordable foods for low income families, building and increasing the capacity of the ACFPC through new and on-going partnerships, and serving as a liaison between Gettysburg College and the Gettysburg community with regards to food related issues, spreading awareness of these issues, and assisting with research.
