Raquel Hernandez was born in a small town in the Northern part of the Dominican Republic. She moved to New York at a very young age where her main focus was art in high school. As a young girl she spent hours drawing and was fascinated by various illustrations, typography and magazine layouts. She then graduated from Parsons School of Design.Today she is a Graphic Designer and Art Director specializing in print publishing, educational materials, trade books and marketing. She has over 15 years in the magazine and educational publishing field and thrives on creating exceptional and compelling designs in a time sensitive environment. Her design work has appeared in both print and digital for American Express, Benchmark Education Publishing, Reycraft Books, Conde Nasté, Reader's Digest, Newmark Learning, Nickelodeon and Weekly Reader. When not designing she loves making marvelous dishes and observing the beauty of nature while drinking a delicious cup of coffee. She currently lives in New York City with her family and adorable Bichon Frise Layla.
