Continuation of my previous role into the Fall semester

Contributed to the Core Identification project, focusing on the remanufacturing of automotive parts leveraging machine learning and collaborative robotics. I developed and implemented methods using OpenCV to allow accurate translation of camera positions to the robot's coordinate system and handle the preprocessing of images. This enabled efficient part identification and sorting. I developed a command line camera to robot coordinate calibration system in order to ease the transferring of robots and fixtures. This lead to the development of a UI application that was responsible for updating calibration time from 2 hours involving 2 interns to 5 minutes for one.Additionally, I conducted extensive research on classification models, constructing multiple test files to explore model manipulation and architectural decisions for optimized results. We leveraged these findings towards improving the current implementation of our identification process. I was responsible for updating existing systems to meet updated requirements, including assembling and configuring the UR20 cobot and re-implementing gripper functions to support updated pneumatic systems.I also developed and implemented utility functions such as a tracking log, to monitor interactions within our system, and scripts to calculate offsets, mapping our robots coordinate plane onto our cameras coordinate plane in an attempt to increase efficiency and automation of tasks. Having a role in projects with an emphasis on reliability and versatility has equipped me with valuable skills applicable across various domains. I Implemented "Robbie Signs Autograph" project that was aimed to represent GIS at the RIT Imagine RIT Event. Included dynamic Text-To-Speech with an updating UI to inform and interact with the attendees while their names were being printed. Application ran for 8 hours continuously signing over 600 names for the 1,000+ visitors that stopped by.

At my family's owned business, I gained extensive experience in drywall hanging, finishing, and framing, honing both technical and soft skills. As a Software Engineer Coop at Baxter, I specialized in the development of automated test fixtures for lifecycle testing, emphasizing the integration of robotics and AI technologies. I led efforts to control the Dorna2 robot arm via a Raspberry Pi using SSH and Python, significantly enhancing the precision and repeatability of our testing procedures. My role involved automating various aspects of the testing process, including data collection and verification throughout a product's lifecycle. Utilizing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) with Tesseract, I processed image data to ensure accurate analysis and reporting. I gained a proficiency with OpenCV library for computer vision solutions, image preprocessing, advanced image analysis tasks such as key point feature detection.In addition to my technical contributions, I implemented efficient data management practices, systematically logging data in CSV format for future training, analysis, and review. I developed detailed protocols and schematics in AutoCAD to ensure the repeatability and maintenance of automated test fixtures. My automation skills extended to developing VBA scripts and integrating tasks through Outlook, streamlining the tracking and distribution of weekly responsibilities across the R&D department, ensuring alignment with project activities. Throughout my time, I actively participated in project management and team collaboration efforts, contributing to project alignment and progress tracking. I played a key role in data verification and testing, presenting insights and addressing conflicts during standup meetings to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Adept in effective communication, adaptability, and problem-solving, I excelled in managing tight deadlines with precision and attention to detail. Collaborating seamlessly within diverse teams, I contributed to the successful completion of various projects and repairs.

I further developed my soft skills by actively engaging with tradesmen and faculty managers, ensuring the satisfaction of our commercial clients. An additional layer to my experience was the unique challenge of traveling out of state for five days a week to complete industrial insulation installation. This not only showcased my adaptability and commitment to fulfilling job requirements but also strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. The experience of installing insulation on a commercial scale demanded precision and attention to detail, valuable attributes directly applicable to my future roles

In this role, I honed my interpersonal and communication skills by meeting with managers to understand clients and their needs and desires, and facilitate these through effective collaboration with the construction team. My experience involved working within a crew to dimension boards and assemble permanent docks and other marine structures, showcasing my ability to work seamlessly in a team-oriented environment. These practical experiences fostered adaptability, communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
