John “Jack” Lowe is a graduate of Lund University where he was part of the inaugural Cultural Criminology Master's Program, the first of its kind in Europe. He was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship in 2019, becoming the first Black West Point cadet to win this award. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. His research focuses on the Swedish Penal System and the relationship between narratives and policy action. He currently serves as a research fellow at the West Point Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and has published work focusing on the history of White Nationalism in the US Military.Jack was commissioned into the US Army Transportation Corps and serves as Distribution Platoon Leader in the 689th Rapid Port Opening Element. At West Point, he served as President of the Cultural Affairs Seminar, the academy's largest organization of Black students, and as the Brigade Respect Captain. In these roles, he co-founded the Hot Topics Forum and led seven forums on topics such as Confederate Monuments, National Anthem Protests, and School Shootings.
