For the past twenty years, I have learned what it means to have a life. At the age of four, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and have faced challenges ever since. Some were little things young neurotypicals would tolerate, like when it was not my turn to press the elevator button—other challenges included handling friendships or even potential relationships that did not work. Today, I still face hard things in life, as everyone else does. The good thing is that I can tolerate challenging situations better than before. Whether a paycheck direct deposit came in late or facing a pandemic, there are always challenges. I currently study Sacred Music in Voice at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, specifically in the College of Music. To me, music is so extraordinary! It helps me process my emotions and enjoy studying every day. After getting my bachelor's degree, I plan to get a Master's in Choral Conducting; I might even get a D.M.A. (Doctorate in Musical Arts). I would love to be a church music director someday!I love talking with and receiving advice from people, whether they are professors or managers, friends or relatives, and so forth. Developing relationships with people who have become significant parts of my life are essential. The more people who become part of my team, the more successful I can become. In general, I have a great work ethic. I am always willing to do anything I can, including community service, doing tasks at work, studying frequently, and so forth.I look forward to connecting with others on LinkedIn and cannot wait to gain new life skills and experiences!
