CurrentFrequent volunteer through the University’s Action (Volunteering) section since February 2023.Lead/Organised projects such as:- School Reunion Charity Football Tournament (Organised and ran a school reunion 6 a side football tournament for the charity groups Head In The Game and Stones Community Trust. The event had more than 25 attendees and raised over £500 for the charities)- University Charity Football Tournaments and Volleyball Tournaments (Planned and carried out these tournaments, developing my advertisement and communication skills in order to bring together more than 90 participants and raise over £550)- Litter Picking Sessions (Bringing together over 35 volunteers to remove litter across Loughborough town, as well as across the beach and surrounding areas during a Surf Society trip to Newquay)Engaged in projects such as:- Football For All (Running football sessions with refugees in the local area to promote physical wellbeing and to support their integration into the community)- Kids Trips (Encouraging physical activity and the development of social skills, through events such as trips to rock climbing centres and international society workshops) - Number Partners (Supporting primary school students in the development of their maths skills, focusing particularly on building their confidence in learning new ideas)- Soup Kitchen (Preparing and serving meals for the local homeless/vulnerable community, engaging with the users to create a fun, welcoming environment)- Contact the Elderly (Hosting tea parties with local elderly residents with the aim of combatting social isolation, playing card games and talking with them to provide much needed social support)- Flix Down Memory Lane (Organising and setting up screenings of season-themed films for the local elderly groups)- VegVan Farm (Carrying out required tasks such as flower potting and allotment maintenance, to allow for upcoming sustainable teaching events to run smoothly)
