Served as an Information Technology Specialist for a 1200+ Soldier Engineer Battalion, responsible for establishing and maintaining computer networks. Attended an intensive 20-week, hands-on training program that included: 160+ hours of CCNA training; 80+ hours of CompTIA A+ training; 80+ hours of CompTIA Security+ training; 80+ hours of various Microsoft OS training, 60+ hours of SOLARIS training; and 30+ hours of VoIP training. As a reservist, maintain 550+ hours of hands-on training per year, and have over 2600+ hours of fulltime experience in network management. Served as Senior Local Area Network manager for a deployed Engineer Battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan 2013-2014. Responsibilities include: troubleshooting a network of over 400 pieces of equipment to ensure maximum availability at all times; establishing, managing, and auditing access of over 500 user accounts across three enclaves in as many as 15 remote, austere locations within a 150-mile radius; updating workstations, servers, and switches to ensure all systems are up-to-date on the latest operational and security standards; overseeing the battalion helpdesk operation using Remedy ticket management system and assuring all issues are addressed in a timely manner. Additional accomplishments include 80+ hours of hands-on instruction in advanced routing practices, completed DoD 8570 compliant CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA A+ certifications.
