The Vistage NextGen program is in a growth phase and it is critical that it elaborates on the group makeup and candidacy. In the past, NextGen was primarily focused on just a family member (son or daughter) who was slated as the next CEO or COO, possibly within the next 5 to 10 years or so. NextGen was to groom them for this near term position. Vistage now needs to go a step further. Jim Baka has a NextGen group primarily made up of young heirs of family businesses (late 20’s to mid 40"s). In saying this, the parent has a way to go before retirement and their son or daughter may or may not take over the CEO position in the very near future. As such, Vistage NextGen is now offered to future potential business leaders including family members, in-laws and possibly anyone who the CEO feels could benefit and grow into a leadership position. Maybe there is someone in their company with great potential to include even a niece or nephew who needs the opportunity to have the reigns loosen a little. Since 1957, Vistage has had a mission to increase the effectiveness and enhance the lives of CEO’s and Next Generation leaders. It is an international organization with more than 19,000 members in 17 countries worldwide; Vistage Midwest has 57 groups and over 750 members in Wisconsin and Western Being a Vistage NextGen member gives the member a competitive edge and increases the member's effectiveness to help outperform their colleagues by being better leaders, making better decisions, being able to better understand and practice accountability, growing both professionally and personally, and overall getting better results.
