Currently working as an Electrical Superintendent responsible for the Ocean Great White, a harsh environment 6th generation DP3 semi-submersible, as well as assisting other rigs in the region.The role involves keeping the safety case and verification scheme up to date planning projects and shipyards along with supporting the rig with any electrical issues it may have.I am currently also the Maximo Functional Admin user for the region, making changes and correction when required as well as making sure job plans, PMs, Safety Case and the verification Scheme align with DODI, DNV, HSE and other regulatory policies. Part of this was developing the Performance Standards that make up the written verification scheme The roles also involve visiting vendors, coordinating work to be carried out by 3rd parties; Receiving quotes, planning work scopes and support visits.Conducting regular meetings with DNV, ABS, HSE, Flag states and other authorities

Electronics Tech from a Rig Electrician position on a 700 series semi drilling rig (Ocean Guardian), currently drilling for Shell in the new Fram field.Main duties include all aspects / scheduling / recording of electrical planned maintenance program, fault finding and breakdown repairs on all drilling rig associated equipment, (T/D, Dwks, M/P, A/W etc)Also responsible for all HV/LV, AC/DC & Ex switchgear, SCR/PLC control systems onboard, as well as ensuring conformation with HSE, ABS and rig safety programs.

Charge hand Electrician working on large commercial building sites. In charge of up to 20 Electricians and mates involved coordination of all electrical works, coordinating with other trades, working from drawings attending site meetings, making sure the work being done applies with IEE Wiring regulations and that the work force work with in the safety requirements of the company and the customer.

Started as an apprentice serving my time mainly on large projects at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, St Fergus gas terminal and Peterhead power station. Once I was time served I became more involved with maintenance first on hire to the power station then the company got the maintenance contract and I was moved to join the maintenance team.
