• Achieve consolidation and standardization across the client environment(s) through the socialization and enforcement of end-user computing hardware and software configuration standards.• Work with regional IT to improve and/or create company-wide end-user computing documentation, standards, policies, and procedures. Deploy applications/solutions necessary for the operations team to complete the day-to-day management of enterprise systems and applications.• Participate with project management teams to implement new projects, service requests, and to upgrade and/or enhance the security of our internal client environment. Provide IT direction for office moves, mergers and acquisitions.• Serve as Tier III/IV escalation point for service desk and regional IT staff. Support the core technologies of the business operations of the mine sites. Maintain and improve upon user productivity by supporting and managing all “user facing” (e.g. workstations, printers, phones, software, applications, etc.) and back room technologies (e.g. servers, switches, PBX’s). Understand and support these technologies and at an expert level with a high degree of energy and enthusiasm.Work closely with the corporate I.T. department and be instrumental in the delivery and on- going support of corporate applications (e.g. Ellipse, safety, etc.) and locally installed systems. Will be involved in or lead business analysis and requirements definition efforts. Develop and maintain an appropriate level of functional expertise with the applications and systems used at the mine and as such will be prepared to advise the user community about how to use these as tools in efficiently and effectively fulfilling business objectives. The capacity to handle multiple projects in either a hands-on or oversight/project management capacity. Such projects may be run simultaneously. Plan and prioritize work accordingly to ensure high quality products are delivered on time and to the desired specifications. Work as necessary to support the needs of process control engineers. Such activities will include the general support of the necessary servers and network technologies used by these controls systems. A solid working knowledge of process control systems as well as the programming of PLC and HMI technologies. Responsible for the management of historical data derived from such control systems.
