Led a team of fifteen system administrators and engineers that are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Earth Science Mission Operations (ESMO) ground system. During this time transformed the team into one of the highest performing teams within ESMO by overhauling the team culture, processes, and methodologies. Also responsible for common managerial tasks: interviews, hiring, tasking, interfacing with the government customer, procurement, budgeting, performance reviews, etc.

Began laying the ground work for the team’s process and methodology overhaul discussed above. Assisted team members with any technical issues ranging from system design, process creation, and system configuration to common patching or difficult user issues. Acted as the project manager for several Earth Observing System projects. Assisted in common managerial duties and stood in as the ground system manager as needed.

Worked as part of the NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) Flight Operations Team (FOT) as an Operations engineer for the Aqua, Aura, and Terra spacecraft. Roles and responsibilities:-Test new builds of software to be used in operations, such as the Integrated Trending and Plotting System, Raytheon's Eclipse Telemetry and Commanding, and Operations Automation software. Check that all requirements for new features and bug fixes have been fulfilled, while maintaining previous functionality. Determine if any new issues arise with the build and work with the software developers to troubleshoot, track, and fix problems. - Work with developers to improve the functionality of operational software and prioritize features for new builds.-Coordinate with system admins to deploy new software to operational environments while minimizing the impact on operations.-Manage online flight engineers in training. Ensure that the trainees are making progress and help coordinate training sessions with subsystem engineers. Evaluate trainees knowledge and certify for flight operations.-Create training material and documentation for ground system and operations. Train online and subsystem engineers how to use new software and tools. -Create check tools for use by the online engineers in daily operations. These tools are used to check spacecraft loads for any errors or irregularities.-Coordinate the upgrade of ground station software and hardware at the different stations used by the Aqua, Aura, and Terra spacecraft. Test and certify new servers for operational use. -Act as the FOT database admin for spacecraft and ground commanding and telemetry. Help members of the FOT create new commands, change commands, create telemetry points, and change telemetry limits. Test and deploy new builds of the database to operations.

Worked as part of the NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) Flight Operations Team (FOT) as the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) subsystem engineer for the Aqua spacecraft. Roles and responsibilities:-Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the C&DH subsystem for the Aqua spacecraft (components include on-board computers, spacecraft 1553 bus, solid state recorder, transponder interface electronics, ultra stable oscillators, formatter multiplexer unit, etc)-Monitor the trending and analysis data for the C&DH subsystems on a daily, weekly, monthly and long term basis-Assist online engineers in identifying and correcting C&DH problems and data contingencies encountered in real-time at anytime including off-hours/weekends-Assist offline engineers in identifying and correcting spacecraft anomalies-Understand On-Board Fault Management (OBFM) and how to respond to all C&DH related spacecraft anomalies through the creation of spacecraft emergency response procedures-Maintain the spacecraft clocks to within mission requirements, which includes trending & analysis of performance and computing & uplinking frequency adjustments-Create C&DH standard operating procedures, interface control documents, telemetry pages, telemetry plots, commanding scripts, trending/analysis tools, and training materials-Create new spacecraft commands and telemetry as needed-Train new online engineers about the C&DH subsystem-Submit monthly and other status reports for the CDH subsystem as needed-Act as backup C&DH engineer for the Aura spacecraft

Designed, constructed, and tested a RockSat payload to be send into sub-orbit in March2015. This payload consists of three experiments; a nitrous-oxide sensor to measuregreen house gasses in the upper atmosphere, a aperture release mechanism for aelectron beam pressure sensor, and a array of GoPro cameras to record a panoramicvideo of the flight for a virtual space tourism experiment. Personally worked on the designof the camera housing and electronics for interfacing with the cameras. Also performedthermal and water proof testing on the camera assembly.
