As a Media Communications Officer for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Nottinghamshire, I lead strategic communications efforts for high-profile projects, including the Safer Streets and Immediate Justice initiatives. These projects are crucial in enhancing public safety and crime prevention across Nottinghamshire, aiming to reduce antisocial behaviour, violence, and crime through community engagement, increased police presence, and targeted crime prevention measures.Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Communications Leadership: I oversee the communications strategy for the Safer Streets and Immediate Justice projects, ensuring clear and consistent messaging that resonates with the public, stakeholders, and media. This involves crafting press releases, video content, photography, media briefings, and social media content that effectively communicate the aims and successes of these initiatives.- Social Media Management: I am involved with the development and execution of our social media strategy, creating content that increases public awareness and engagement with our initiatives. This includes monitoring social media channels, responding to public enquiries, and analysing engagement metrics to refine our approach.- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: My role involves continuous collaboration with Nottinghamshire Police, ensuring alignment on messaging and communications across all areas of business. I also engage with third-sector organisations to build partnerships that support our community safety goals.- Political Neutrality and Adaptability: I maintain strict political neutrality in my communications role, having worked under both Conservative and Labour Police and Crime Commissioners. This requires a nuanced understanding of the political landscape and the ability to adapt communications strategies to reflect the priorities of different administrations while maintaining the integrity and objectives of the Office.
