Employed in the Wigan office as a member of the software development team, responsible for the manual testing of education management web applications, primarily for sports colleges and secondary schools using Laravel PHP.My duties primarily consist of black-box testing; including defect detection and reporting, regression and integration testing. I also perform limited back-end testing to ensure changes made through the web application are correctly reflected in the database. Testing for each story/bug is performed on an individual branch, before integration testing on a separate branch before release. During my employment, I have become adept at recreating issues and testing new content/functionality from tickets that contain minimal information. The company uses GitHub for branch/source control and Jira for user stories and bug tracking.

Employed as part of the test team, concentrating on manual testing of specialist taxi management, invoicing, reporting and client/supplier management software, web applications and mobile apps and ensuring all elements interact and function together correctly.I often liaised with other areas of the business to provide occasional second line support and identify ad-hoc issues within the various elements of the software. I was also the primary point of contact between the business and an external agency that was developing a mobile application to interface with Cabfind’s systems. The company uses Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source control and bug tracking, and I also have some experience with Visual Studio and Selenium IDE. As voluntary duties, I have updated and re-written several documents for the business, including FAQs for the web applications and training documents for operations staff.

Employed in the Liverpool office as part of the Global First Party Quality Assurance Europe division, working on titles throughout the Pre-Alpha, Alpha, Beta and Master stages of development. Duties included identifying bugs and reporting them in a precise and effective manner. During my time at Sony, I became known for my attention to detail, spotting and reproducing uncommon and low-frequency bugs.I was also selected as the first and primary English localisation tester for Japanese titles. My responsibilities included checking and amending translated text to ensure accuracy and consistency. I was also responsible for communicating with the US English localisation team in San Diego as well as external contractors, managing a database of common issues across all translated languages and daily status reports.

Nov 2009 The company buys and sells second-hand goods. My roles included stock management, staff management (including rotas, training, payment of wages etc.) serving customers and the assessment and testing of electronic goods including games consoles, mobile phones and PC components. As a supervisor I was required to deal with customer queries and problems, communication between other stores and head office and ensure that staff were kept up to date with procedures and policies. This has served to enhance my communication and problem solving abilities.
