As the sole UX Researcher, I act as a consultant for over 20 UX Designers. I guide my team through their research needs by helping them develop and execute a research plan using a variety of research methods (generally qualitative), as well as educating them on how to analyze and the resulting data and share their findings. I regularly teach groups between 10-30 people on various aspects of UX research and lead a book club reading related material. I have overseen or personally participated in hundreds of usability tests, dozens of user interviews and ethnographic visits, and other forms of research; I am comfortable with unmoderated and moderated sessions conducted remotely or in-person, and advocate for research to be done in a contextual setting.

I work with product management to create the blueprints for future functionality. I make many suggestions based on user observations; I also review user feedback with our Support team to promote requested functionality.From the many suggestions and requests, I receive assignments which range from large, complex projects to small, but critical, improvements. I study the assignments, gathering input externally from direct observation and discussion, as well as internally from those experienced in the areas my assignment will touch. I then create the user stories and system requirements, as well as interactive mock-ups using Axure. After receiving feedback from those I have learned from earlier, I present my work to product management. I then participate in creating one or more usability tests for my (and others') assignments, moderating the sessions with users, and analyzing the results with the rest of the Usability team. From the results, I make the necessary changes before passing on the design for development.I work with local and international development teams to ensure the final product matches the original design as closely as possible, as well as providing requested general feedback and guidance on other projects they have been assigned.
