Jerrold Johnson has over 23 years law enforcement experience, including over 18 years experience in campus law enforcement. Jerrold is currently the Campus Public Safety Advisor and parter with Safety Advisors For Higher Educational CampusesPreviously, Jerrold's was CALEA accreditation manager for the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN). Jerrold spearheaded, the University of Tennessee Police Department's initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The University of Tennessee was awarded full accreditation with 100% compliance in 2009. As accreditation manager, Jay updated the University of Tennessee Police Department's written directives to bring them into compliance with CALEA standards including, but not limited to emergency event planning, selection and promotion, patrol operations, training, communications, limits of authority, use of force, investigations, homeland security, agency controlled property management, media realtions, code of conduct, emergency vehicle operation SOP, and a host of other areas.Prior to being accreditation manager, Jerrold was the commander of shift patrol operations as lieutenant, field supervisor as sergeant, field training officer as a patrol officer. In 2006, Jerrold was tasked with ending the high attrition rate of employees. At the time the department was losing on average 5 officers a year and was suffering 9 patrol officer vacancies. Jerrold formed a committee that developed an increased pay for performance plan.
