From a young age, I’ve been exposed to technology. As a way of studying, my uncle would teach eight-year-old me how to build and set up a computer and that sparked my initial love for technology. In high school, I’ve taken a computer science class that exposed me to programming and I found great joy in it. Ever since then, I’ve sought some more experience in computer science, more specifically in IT. Up until recently, I haven’t had much luck finding anything.I’ve always been aspired to learn by any means necessary. With that said, I decided to go to college and major in Computer Science. Although I didn’t get much exposure to computer science as I would like to have had, I still value my time there as it had taught me much more than I anticipated, both academically, and more about myself as a person. It had taught me how to communicate more effectively orally and on paper. It had also taught me how to work well with others on projects that I may not be too keen on doing. My learning also extended outside of the classroom. During my time in the workforce, I learned how to work with others in a real-world setting, and the value of working as a team to reach a common goal. I learned how to communicate with my coworkers, the value of my work, how to gain the trust of management, and just my overall versatility.Currently, I reside with Year Up, learning what it means to be a professional and hoping to continue learning in this field I grew fond of.
