Blackboard Analytics is a data warehouse and reporting framework which leverages a MS SQL stack and OLAP, combined with a Kimball-based methodology to provide a robust platform for enterprise analysis. The Technical Consultant is an implementation position supporting the installation, configuration and customization of the Blackboard Analytics product (formerly known as iStrategy). The Bb Analytics product leverages Microsoft SQL Server and the Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services product to expose a dimensional data model, providing a highly available and scalable reporting backbone for Higher Education clients using any of the three primary ERPs for Higher Ed (Banner, PeopleSoft, and Datatel).As such, I have experience with ERP datasources and ODS for all three HE ERPs mentioned above. Additionally, I have experience with a number of reporting tools and frameworks in addition to basic SQL Server tools such as SSMS, SSAS, SSIS. These include SSRS, Pyramid Analytics, ProClarity, and PerformancePoint (SharePoint).

During my tenure, I oversaw process analysis, change management, instruction, coordination of staff, and successful implementation of the following systems and projects:o Ellucian Banner, Hobsons Connect (CRM), IBI WebFocus (reporting/business analytics), Oracle Databases, MySQL databases, etc.o Processing efficiencies based on volume and process assignmento Recruitment goals projections, reporting, and targeted review of applications (accurate to within 5 students for Fall 2012 class as of the first day of class)o Detailed decision round projections and analysis of enrollment trends for purposes of predictive analyticso A 150+ item communication plan with integrated plans targeting populations such as high school Juniors, Transfer Students, High Ability Students, Diverse Students and Teacher Education majors.o A student call center to reinforce marketing and recruitment goals (responsible for over 12k completed calls for Fall 2012, and already approaching 20k for Fall 2013)o An all new marketing redesign including an excellent new campus visit video and an award-winning new student viewbook, a suite of printed “road” pieces and a mailer targeting purchased PSAT and ACT juniors.o New WebFocus-based dashboard reporting for both live and historical comparison purposes.o Paperless processing methods including Imaging software/database, fax server and supporting inter-office system modifications and processes.o Transition away from the AdmissionPros admissions processing systemo Transition to Banner for Admissions including significant modifications and new forms: o Processing queues, Community Standards review, Residency review, student self-service portal, etc. o Multiple interfaces to imaging, CRM, reporting and data warehouse o Implementation of Hobsons Connect CRM

Systems analysis and architecture, interface design and troubleshooting in an PeopleSoft ERP ecosystem. I was responsible for functional management of core person information, and it's use throughout the PeopleSoft ecosystem, including the rules for interface and transformation through the SOAP-based Java middleware.I was closely involved in the establishment of the institutional Data Standards process, including rules and documentation. Other responsibilities included liason with business offices including HR, Payroll, Finance, Registrar, Financial Aid and Admissions to ensure proper use and adherence to Data Standards, troubleshooting, tracking of error rates and subsequent process change recommendations.

As a PeopleSoft business analyst for Campus Solutions/Admissions processes, I was responsible not only for Admissions business analysis, process mapping and documentation, but for spearheading the development of new processes that define the interfaces with a number of systems supporting admissions and person services at the University. I was responsible for the full lifecycle of development for the Admissions and Campus Community products, providing process analysis, design specifications, development support, test planning, end-to-end testing, data conversion, implementation and production support.In this position, I was responsible for the interviewing and selection of consultants to support Campus Community (PeopleSoft Student module) work, coordination of development and functional support with various resources, and project/task tracking of Campus Community related development and support items.I was also directly involved with the assessment and selection of the ImageNow product for paperless processing of applications, and assisted in the analysis of ImageNow workflow and its method of interacting with PeopleSoft.This position worked directly with a number of companion admissions applications and systems such as: AdmissionPros, A Client (AADSAS), PharmADMIT (PharmCAS), ACES2 (LSAC), AP2 (custom AMCAS client), Sun Portal, Oracle SOA Solutions, Identity Management (Kerberos, Shibboleth, LDAP), Document Management (ImageNow), Enterprise Reporting (WebFocus), Cybermation (process automation), SIS (Student Information System – Sunguard), Remedy, Oracle databases, Solaris infrastructure, and (to a lesser extent) Oracle UCM/Stellent.

As the Applications Specialist, I was responsible for the implementation and maintenance of nearly every mission critical system at the School including: admissions, accounting, HR, course evaluations, public website and INTRAnet website, interactive recruitment videos and consulting with the Instructional Technology group at the School of Pharmacy (SOP), including establishment of and collaboration with the UNC Adobe Connect co-operative. Primary job responsibilities included successful implementation and maintenance of the PharmCAS national clearinghouse admissions application client software and process for School of Pharmacy applicants. In addition, I led marketing and branding initiatives and vendor selection/project management for projects including self-contained interactive multimedia promotional pieces and website redesigns. Technical projects included implementing the IT Works application (shadow system for accounting/HR/grant management/space management), development of an INTRAnet and content management framework, installation of MS Project Server, management of 4 Windows Server 2003 systems (IIS, Apache Tomcat, .NET, MS SQL Server, MySQL, SharePoint Server, Python, Plone/Zope, Joomla, etc.). As a part of my responsibilities, I managed the day-to-day task assignments for up to four contractors and served in a project management role for many interdisciplinary projects involving staff and faculty from throughout the School. I also served in a mentoring/training capacity, teaching cold fusion, web development, animation and graphic design techniques to our Instructional Technology staff.

I founded and managed the Carolina Adobe User Group at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The group had approximately 75 members, and still exists today.The CAUG met monthly to discuss case studies of projects at UNC that utilize Adobe technologies. Topics covered recently include Photoshop, Flash, Cold Fusion, Flex and Graphic Design.

A spin-off of MedicalWeb.com, Medfusion was a capital seeking venture specializing in automated template driven website design and physician-patient interaction. As Art Director, I was involved with information architecture, website design, template design, interface design, print and electronic collateral design, marketing, and advertising. I was the approving authority for all branded content for web or print, and designed the UI for the Medfusion application (content management and patient interaction). I worked with a 6-10 person team of developers and designers, and had approval rights over all GUI and site design. I also served in a mentor capacity, in many cases developing interns and staff new to design into productive members of the company. I was also responsible for purchasing/commissioning all original, royalty-based and royalty-free artwork for use on company websites and marketing materials.
