Won a second place award for sports reporting in the 2023 Georgia Press Association awards in June. Walton Tribune won General Excellence award. Personally, this is the fourth state, joining Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and now Georgia as an award winning journalist.

Covered Thomasville city government and the business community..During the six years, had extensive coverage of Thomasville's push for a new hospital and a new downtown library. Both projects reached completion either by the end of my time, or shortly afterwards.

Did the weekly enterprise stories for the Star. This included business stories in East Mississippi Development area. Also did an extensive story on the Mississippi State Flag.

They have come up with a way to cut pollutant emissions from coal-fired power plants. Now has a presence on five continents that includes several countries: China, India, United States, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Egypt, Chile.

Covered Ole Miss sports.

Editing, quark design of news pages and sports, government and features reporting. Covered the four county high schools on a regular beat. Also broke a national story of Jay Hopson's hire as the Alcorn State football coach in 2012.

Paginated the sports section. Also covered 7 high schools and Wallace State Community College. Worked for Creg Stephenson while there. He's the sports editor at the Mississippi Press in Pascagoula.

Covered 18 schools and three community colleges for the Meridian paper. This was a seven-day a week daily and I paginated the sports section daily.

Was the sports editor for this five-day, daily. Covered seven high schools, LBW College and some Alabama and Troy University football.

The job everyone knows me from. Was the sports editor here for 12 1/2 years. Covered 11 Elite 8 NCAA Basketball Tournaments while covering Delta State. Also had 12 high schools. Won 16 MPA and Miss./La. Managing Editor Assn. Awards here, including a handful of first place awards; on topics like Bill Marchant being involved in tragic wreck and the Mississippi College Board considers cuts.
