Assistant Director
CurrentI was hired at Education, Inc. as a teacher who worked with students in an inpatient behavioral health center. I communicated with the student's residential school district to secure curriculum as well as provide my own K-12 lessons on all 4 core subjects. I facilitated a smooth transition back to school once the student was discharged.In July 2013 I was promoted to Lead Teacher. Here I served as a mentor to other teachers at my hospital as well as worked closely with management to ensure the positive performance and growth of the site.One year later, in July 2014, I was promoted to Team Leader. In this role, I managed a team of teachers while still teaching in the classroom. I was highly involved with the upper management of the organization to create performance goals and objectives for the team. I conducted quarterly evaluations of my teachers and provided professional development opportunities to increase the success of the division and the company overall. I worked with the recruitment team to hire and onboard new employees. I also facilitated positive relationships with the hospital and district contacts.In July 2015 I received the title of Assistant Director. In this new role, I continue with the responsibilities of a Team Leader and I am more involved in the management of our New York hospital programs as a whole.I am very fortunate that in November 2017, I was able to go back to my routes and help support a classroom in a behavioral hospital as a teacher. This opportunity reminded me why I fell in love with the teaching profession so many years ago. It was also around this time that Education, Inc. became LearnWell Education.Most recently, in September 2018, I have once again stepped out of the classroom to provide more leadership support to my team. I am now overseeing school programs across 6 hospital units in NY and NJ.
