Green Lake

As the children's librarian, I do storytimes at two different libraries, conduct community outreach in Green Lake and Wallingford, design and present programming, maintain and update the children's collection, and work to create a lasting connection with my community. As a branch librarian, I offer professional and friendly reference services for everything from citizenship resources to reader's advisory. I have extensive training in the use of Overdrive on various devices and offer on-the-fly tech help with both personal and library devices. I act as the building lead when needed and enforce the library system's rules of conduct.

Broadview Branch

Temporary librarian at a busy branch in North Seattle. Did outreach and specialized story times or library visits for local schools and daycares, ran three weekly story times (toddler, baby, and family), maintained and updated the branch collection of children's materials, planned and executed programming. While on the reference desk, provided reference services, tech help, assistance with ebooks, Overdrive, and tablets, enforced the rules of conduct, and acted as building lead when needed.

Staffing reference desks at 22 of the 26 SPL locations, offering high-quality reference and customer service, assisting with ebooks and using the library's Overdrive catalog, providing reader's advisory for all ages.

Assisted patrons with searches, reference questions, and library materials. Managed local theater database in Access, entering 50 performances into database weekly. Worked on ongoing project to digitize card catalog of play indexes, as well as indexed new materials as needed. Alphabetized, organized, and shelved materials.

Copy-edited the Bellevue Community College weekly paper to AP standards for a circulation of 2000. Wrote articles, reviews, and opinion pieces as needed. Formatted ads and pictures to conform to paper standards in PageMaker.
