What inspires me: Helping others to be their best. Whether helping female athletes participate in sports, working in a donation warehouse for youth experiencing homelessness, or inspiring volunteers in my nonprofit to maximize our impact, I take great joy in guiding, encouraging, and supporting people to overcome barriers and achieve goals. Throughout high school, I sought volunteer and employment opportunties that served diverse groups and individuals but had one thing in common: the opportunity to interact with, and help, people facing challenges. For example: == As the founder of a 501(c)(3) Ta Ta for Now, I lead a program with direct services to low and very-low-income female youth. I have distributed more than 7,000 new bras, 25,000 pairs of underwear. I observed how little things had a big impact, and how being present at the right time can be the catalyst for change. == Most recently, I joined a workgroup of other community organizations and agencies to help our schools address the needs of homeless students through resource development. ==Currently, I tutor Ukranian students helping break the language barrier, offering friendship and emotional support, and introducing them to a new culture. My other great love is sports. I've been on high school soccer team, and earned the varsity letter for track. I played travel soccer for over 9 years, acting as the Team Captain. How does this affect my goals? Sports create common points of interest and allows people, no matter their background, to participate in a rewarding activity. I love providing resources for girls to stay active and using it to unlock barriers and build confidence. My future plans include attending college and being admitted to law school. Ultimately, I aspire to be a public interest attorney, relying on my love of public speaking and strong advocacy skills. In that role, I can help others be their best.
