I love people, and nothing brings me more joy than helping others. My advocating passion started with the WA State ECEAP (preschool) program. For 7 years I got to advocate for this amazing program, not just locally but at a State level. I learned so much talking with State Representatives and the Governor, I was even chosen to work on a special board for the Governor helping with changes to the preschool and daycare programs in Washington State. It was a blessing to advocate with some terrific people to make these programs better for our children. I no longer live in Washington, but have found many passions to advocate for. My ex-husband is a retired Army Sergeant after being injured in Afghanistan, providing route clearance for Marine Convoys. When he returned home things were very difficult and we found ourselves in unfamiliar territory trying to get him the help he so desperately needed. He does not remember his first year home, so I am glad that I was there to help him. Others are not so lucky, they don't have someone to advocate for them or their Caregiver doesn't know where to start. This is why battle-buddy.info was born. It started with a list of resources I had found and compiled while helping my husband and our family.Navigating through the thousands of pages from hundreds of resources specifically designed to help Veterans was and is terrifying and daunting. I mentioned my list to an Amazing friend Charlynn Johns and together along with other Caregivers and Veterans, battle-buddy.info was started. Since we began, we have grown leaps and bounds, but we still have so much to do. My goal, OUR goal, is to reach every Veteran, Caregiver or Family member that needs help. We are currently losing 22 Veterans and 1 Service Member DAILY this is unacceptable and we hope and pray to make a difference, one person at a time.

We leave no one behind!Who could have guessed when I started on my journey as Veteran Caregiver that I would compile a list of resources that would be the beginning of Battle Buddy? Every appointment, need and necessary resource to get my husband the help he needed went on a "seed" list. I had heard it over and over again from other caregivers, that the resources were the hardest thing to find. Everyone and every organization had their own list. I started passing out a list of 300 organizations to other caregivers to help them out so everyone wouldn't have to go through all the pages of donor-centric information to find the help they needed for their Wounded Warrior or veteran. In 2008, we started Warrior Forums in San Antonio to create the website which would make it easier for caregivers to find the help and assistance they so needed. I am proud to state that the 300 organizations on my small "seed" list was the beginning of Battle-Buddy.Info. We are continuously adding new organizations to meet the growing demand for veteran services. One website with all the resource information you need -- a "Yelp" type format allows you to rate services as a registered user to ensure that the organizations are getting direct assistance to veterans as promised. -
