I'm a driven Higher Education professional who aims to center the experience of students, social justice, leadership, and service in everything I do. Most recently, I worked with high school seniors in St. Paul Public Schools as they applied to and prepared for college. Navigating everyday life with my students taught me impactful lessons in intercultural competence and dismantling systemic barriers to college access and success. Furthermore, I fostered my ability to work independently as the sole Senior Coach at Johnson High School and thrived in a results-driven environment by consistently exceeding weekly benchmarks.Prior to that, I worked at the department and college levels of the University of Minnesota to advance programming for student support from the brainstorming stage all the way through program evaluation and revision. I honed skills in facilitation, interpersonal communication, and strategic thinking. I often developed and sustained relationships with different units across campus to reach shared goals for student programming and large-scale events. Additionally, I spent a great deal of time supervising Peer Advisors. Through practical application of theory, I was able to find balance between support and challenge to promote their student development. I’ve found that I thrive most when surrounded by a workplace culture that is open to collaboration, solution-oriented, and driven to change the world. I bring a deep commitment, creative problem-solving, and exceptional organization to my work. I also whole-heartedly believe that an idealistic vision is equally as important as a realistic understanding of challenges we face in order to take practical and actionable steps toward social change.
