About Joe Rafter

Starting my career as a youth support worker in 2005, I have gone on to work with some of the most vulnerable and complex young people in our society, helping them to cope with previous life traumas and supporting them to move forward with their lives. Along with a BSc Psychology degree, two higher education diplomas in Leadership & Management and a Diploma in Coaching, I have accumulated 15 years’ experience of supporting, coaching and mentoring children and young people with complex emotional and mental health needs. Today, I run my own organisation which provides residential services for vulnerable young people in the care system, providing therapeutic living environments and bespoke psychological services. I am also the founder and chairman of a children’s charity, The Harley Jae Trust, that supports children and families receiving critical care in hospital.
