John’s practice is primarily focused on the representation of banks and other institutional, governmental and quasi-governmental lenders in connection with both commercial and commercial real estate credit arrangements. His experience ranges from smaller loan transactions, including SBA term loans and revolving lines of credit to more sophisticated asset-based loan arrangements and multi-borrower and multi-lender transactions involving customary and unusual collateral security and/or multi-lender intercreditor agreements and issues. John also works with bank lenders and other institutional and private creditors in asserting and exercising their rights and remedies under financing transactions including foreclosure and disposition of collateral, and the negotiation and documentation of forbearance, restructuring and settlement agreements. In addition to his banking and finance practice, John also represents privately owned business clients in organizing and structuring business entities, the negotiation and drafting of agreements among business owners and other business transactions, including contract negotiation and drafting, commercial leasing, debt and equity financings and sales and acquisitions of businesses.John has been a lecturer for the New England College of Finance, Risk Management Association, the Eastern Association of Equipment Lessors, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and other industry training organizations. John also frequently leads commercial lending training programs for regional bank clients. Prior to undertaking the practice of law, John managed a credit function for a large regional commercial bank.
