• 30 patients per procedure day. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast paced environment.• Assesses the status of the patient through observation and interaction.• Works closely with attending physician and CRNA to maintain patient safety. • Obtains an overview of the patient’s health by reviewing the patient’s charts.• Obtains consent, completes pre-op, review patient medications, assesses vital signs, inserts I.V. catheter, obtains EKG, administers IV antibiotics prior to surgery as ordered by the physician.• Accurately relays patient information to the care team by leading the time out.• Reports and documents information accurately during surgical operations.• Reduces risk of infection by adhering to aseptic technique and safety practices.• Has an in-depth knowledge of anesthetic agents, emergency drugs, impending complications, and emergency treatment of complications.• Professionally communicates with patients and their families, as well as members of the health care team.
