John Colarusso is a Principal Engineer at Illumio. Colleagues describe him as "You can't go wrong having John leading your team. John pioneered the implementation of an SNMP trap simulator to help speed development along. The tool would allow the development team to verify code that would otherwise require causing difficult-to-reproduce situations on real hardware. At the time, I was being onboarded at HDS as a junior engineer, and John took it upon himself to show me how the SNMP project was set up, immediately involving me in the design process. Later, as bugfix lead on the development team, John expertly divided the tasks among the team members, playing to their strengths. John and his team were always ahead of schedule and finished patching their assigned bugs well before release, leaving them time to hotfix surprise critical issues as they came up. John is a motivated leader that can bring out the best in his co-workers."
