This is a job that relies on two elements. Great customer service and critical problem solving. People can call the admission call center and expect someone from our amazing team to help them. These questions can range from admission scholarships, various deadlines for current and incoming students, as well as anything else you can name. Since the questions being asked can range to almost anything it requires a vast knowledge of various topics, thinking on your feet, and most importantly using great communication amongst your co-workers.

Me and a team of 4 others as well as the new student programs staff here at ISU train 40 talented cyclone aides who are the main individuals in charge of organizing and facilitating orientation for over 15,000 incoming new students and their guests. This position is focused on many areas such as event management, public speaking experience, leadership and mentor opportunities and much more.

In this position I was a part of a 40 person that was responsible with getting new students and their families comfortable with Iowa State being their new home. This position was a blessing because it allowed me to work with an amazing / diverse group of students that really shaped my college experience. This job called for long hours and constant customer service, it has created the charismatic and positive leader I am today.
