Hello! My name is John Scherer and I consider myself to be first and foremost a music maker. I am currently working as a composer for Riot Games' upcoming fighting game, "2XKO" (formerly "Project L"). While music has been the main passion and focus throughout my life, video games have always remained a close second. Games are my personal favorite medium for art and storytelling so being able to help create one is a dream-come-true scenario.I've been composing, producing and performing music for a living for about a decade now and have had the privilege of working on many incredible projects with some truly amazing people, primarily in the field of R&B and Hip Hop. Some of those highlights include producing and writing for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, TreySongz, 42 Dugg, Smino, Robert Glasper, D.R.A.M. and others, as well as touring/performing with artists including Daniel Caesar, Flying Lotus, Snoh Aalegra, Jorja Smith, 6lack, Ari Lennox, Orion Sun, Baby Rose, Fana Hues, and many more. I have been lucky enough to have been able to tour much of the world performing music and playing on iconic programs such as NPR's Tiny Desk and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.I also strongly believe in the importance of passing on knowledge and experience to younger pursuers of music creation and have thus made it a point to spend some amount of time providing music writing/production workshops and clinics, as well as teaching privately throughout my career.
