  • Modified the Red Hat kernel IDE, DMA, and RAID code to allow hot swapping of hard drives while running in RAID-1 (mirroring) within a Red Hat kernel that did not support hot-swapping.
  • Responsible for initial board “bring-up” on proprietary HW, using a flash emulator, logic analyzer, and scope
  • Kept mini-OS boot code resident and mapped out of Linux space: during Linux "Oops/Panic", did a callback to the boot code to store critical panic data into persistent storage.
  • Wrote a custom boot loader to uncompress one of 2 Linux kernel images from flash into RAM and jump to it.
