Contract change from Alion Science & Technology to GDIT and moved into a position within the new Network Operations Security Center (NOSC).

Integrates security applications with network boundary security implementations. Determines enterprise information assurance and security standards. Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures. Develops comprehensive engineering implementation plans (EIP). Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for the organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customer requirements. Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems. Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures. Manage and implement DOD information security, communications-computer systems security and industrial security policies and procedures. Supports customer at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies. Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements such as Infoblox DNS DTC and F5 BIG-IP APM / ASM. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Network devices, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Intrusion Detection Systems, Virtual Private Networks, Operating System concepts, Processes and threads, File systems, DNS Whitelisting, reverse Web proxy.

Developed and maintains a Theater level filtering strategy in coordination with DISA, COCOM Service Components, and other government organizations. Provides clients with security architecture recommendations and assist with planning and implementation of long term projects. Provides user training in security awareness and in conveying information security policies.

Manage the CFP (Communications focal Point). Supervise and support classified networks for the military Air Operations Group at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Administer and manage Network Boundary Protection utilizing Sidewinder Firewalls, SMTP Mail Gateway, and Adonis DNS Servers. Perform duties as Communications QAR (Quality Assurance Representative).

Working experience with DoD Information Assurance polices CENTCOM 25-206 and DoD 8500.1 and 8500.2 guidelines, DISA STIG, and Army Regulation AR 25-2. Responsible for Theater compliance with DoDI 8551.1 Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM). Managed network security devices, identified and remediated network security vulnerabilities. Provided security oversight, technical expertise, and security training to various theater sites. Practiced strong IT Governance to include configuration and change control. Configured and deployed VPN, SSL, other encryption methodology / technology.

Supported installation, troubleshooting, and operation of firewalls on unclassified and classified networks. Good working knowledge of customer security requirements (DCID 6/3, DISA STIGS, etc.). Implements CND perimeter defense and firewall architectures and principles.

Multi National Forces Iraq (MNFI) Headquarters, in Camp Victory and International Zone, Iraq. Performed network and host vulnerability scans and documented results in relation to residual risk identification. Implemented and enforced security policies across the organization and theater. Operational experience with DoD Information Assurance policies CENTCOM 25-206, DoD 8500.1, and 8500.2 guidelines with a working knowledge of DITSCAP and SSAA. Coached network professionals with DoD Defense-In-Depth security procedures and techniques.

Analyzed Air Force network Access Control Lists, Proxies, and IP Filters for known security vulnerabilities and ensure that appropriate information access levels are maintained. Reviewed information network security policies and procedures and refer problems or recommend solutions to appropriate department managers or administrators. Trained and mentored front-line network maintenance technicians across entire Air Force and incoming team members on network troubleshooting techniques, tactics, and equipment used on visits. Monitored advancements in information security technologies and changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect information security.
