I have over twenty five years of experience working across the data and analytics field, having engaged in every aspect of major data and analytics endeavors--from Fortune 200 technology companies, to non-profits and foundations, to labor unions, academic institutions, and state and federal government agencies. I am currently Atlassian's Head of Business Intelligence (BI) and Strategic Analytics within the Customer Support Services organization. Here, I am focused on leading a team of data scientists and analysts as they mature their dashboard and analytical acumen, as well as enhancing their executive insights and decision support—something I have ample experience in from the past decade within People Analytics in Human Resources, both at the Foundation and then Tableau/Salesforce. I couldn't be more excited to focus my analytical capabilities in a new function, with larger volumes of data and an eager group of action-oriented stakeholders. In addition to my full-time data analytics and strategy work, I am concurrently an affiliate assistant professor with the University of Washington's Department of Sociology, faculty associate with the University of Washington's Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies, faculty affiliate with the University of Washington’s eScience Institute, and director and co-founder of the Northwest Social Research Group. With in-depth knowledge of research design and implementation, as well as statistical analysis, my analytic experience includes, among other skills, designing and implementing surveys, engaging in case study research, and multivariate analysis using an assortment of statistical tools. I have authored multiple published scholarly and policy reports on social movements and economic inequality, have presented to technical and non-technical professional, policy and academic audiences, and have become enamored with the power of data visualization--especially Tableau!--and multivariate modeling to bring organizational and strategic data to life for those who have chosen a career other than torturing data for a living.
Listed skills include Data Analysis, Statistics, Program Evaluation, Report Writing, and 41 others.
