I was responsible for a new research project with long-term goals of producing a long documentary and related museum exhibit. As part of this project I researched prospective interviewees, converting 50% of target prospects into live interviews, and worked lights, sound, and video production for all interviews. I also researched and identified video and photographic material for the production of a 20-minute teaser documentary and engaged third parties to ensure compliance with copyright law.Other responsibilities included conducting historical research for regional history projects and exhibits; designing and installing exhibits; and researching federal, state, and private grant programs. As part of this work, I led the research and grant-writing initiative that resulted in being awarded funding and status approval of Montauk’s first NY State Historical Marker.

I quickly acquired extensive knowledge of museum artifacts, exhibits, structures, and regional history spanning over 225 years, and shared this knowledge with up to 1,200 visitors per day at this National Historic Landmark.

This role was multi-faceted and dynamic on a day-by-day basis. I interfaced with project leads, animators, editors, interns, and legal team in order to facilitate the production process for 24 short, educational videos for PBS North Carolina. I researched, identified, and organized images and video material for animators and producers, coordinated project hand-offs between different teams, and developed and honed a system to ensure copyright clearance for hundreds of archival assets.

I conducted independent research on all categories of North Carolina history, ranging from notable achievements in modern-day sports to events during the American Revolution. After completing my research, I crafted my findings into concise, accessible stories for an extensive target audience, ultimately creating more than 40 stories for future publication as short, educational films.

This position was a jack-of-all-trades role. Highlights of my work include: filmed, edited, and published videos about historical sites for a commercial travel company; conducted site research, wrote scripts, and organized production schedule; researched, wrote, and published subscription-based weekly blog posts to support video content series; oversaw company's content promotion process via email and social media campaigns, including originating and managing company's first internship program to support the promotion process.I also had the pleasure of co-leading a 13-day trip to France in January 2022 for a group of twenty university students and two professors.
