Serves as the Deputy Inspector General for the Virginia National Guard (9,500 Soldiers, Airmen, Civilians and associated Family Members). Serves as a confidential representative of the Adjutant General, an extension of his eyes, ears, voice, and conscience. Assesses and reports on matters affecting morale and discipline as well as the readiness and warfighting capabilities of the command. Provides assistance to any person who requires support to resolve personnel, administrative, legal, or financial issues. Works as an independent and objective fact finder in a position which demands the utmost trust, confidence, and discretion. Conducts inquiries and investigations into concerns of impropriety and other sensitive issues. Professionally develops the force through teaching and training. Supervises three IGs. Oversees the IG Management Control process.
