In 1997, I began my career working in the commercial property management industry with a leading real estate holding and management company in Baltimore. I was responsible for a portfolio of seven class “A” office buildings including medical practices, law firms, accounting services, marketing and advertising firms, information technologies and insurance companies. In 2000, I joined Metro Property Management, which then formed WPM Real Estate Management, a management company specializing in homeowner/condominium associations and apartment management with a comprehensive maintenance and construction services division. My portfolio currently consists of upscale condominium and townhome communities. This role is diverse in its responsibilities and includes management of the maintenance and janitorial services, frequent inspections of the common areas within the community; interaction with and support of on-site staff; contract bidding; project design; preparing the request for proposals for large-scale projects; project bidding; and project management. It also includes preparation of annual budgets in addition to conducting community meetings, and direct communication with the Board of Directors, owners, and residents. In January 2008, I became a minority partner with the WPM Real Estate Management and was promoted to Senior Community Association Manager. I am involved with strategic planning of the Association Management Division where my duties include training and assisting other associates with various construction and repair projects. I currently hold two designations from CAI, the Community Associations Institute. One is the CMCA®, Certified Manager of Community Associations, and the other is AMS®, Association Management Specialist. As Senior Manager, I am involved with strategic planning for my company and training of new associates. Over the years, I have refined my skills at budgeting, planning, customer service and condominium governance.
