In this role, I am responsible for planning, organising, and operating the AMT curriculum designed to prepare RAAF students within the JSF ITC for the Federal Aviation Administration certification and an entry-level position in the aircraft maintenance industry. I facilitate a mix of classroom, computer-aided and practical instructions in alignment with the applicable JSF syllabus. I contribute to the appreciation of diversity and foster an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment. In this capacity, I have created and maintained an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with students, whilst also maintaining a safe environment through instruction, policy, and continuous evaluation of program.

I was responsible for coordinating maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling of FA-18 Hornet aircraft to ensure that all equipment is in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. I oversaw the work of Aircraft Fitters and Technicians, scheduled maintenance and inspections, and verified approvals to release aircraft for flight. Forecasted and prioritised aircraft maintenance and inspections utilising Program Planning to schedule preventative maintenance. In this role, I was expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

I conducted AP3C-Orion aircraft technical courses and facilitated the design and production of technology-based training materials and courseware. Ensured advanced preparation of lesson plans, training materials, training aids, course assessments and workbooks prior to training courses. I conducted various assessments on technical personnel to identify knowledge and skill gaps, while continuously evaluating and modifying curriculum effectiveness based on learner outcome performance. I also advised on technical subjects within the scope of technical training.

My primary role as an Aircraft Trade Supervisor was to supervise the maintenance and repair work that was required on the AP3C-Orion aircraft. This role required me to develop and apply leadership skills in order to plan and coordinate multiple work groups involved in the maintenance operation. I managed a crew of technicians, assessed the mechanical and physical integrity of the aircraft, and implemented federal regulations regarding aircraft readiness. I also facilitated training sessions for RAAF personnel in the correct use of personal protective equipment and relevant WHS requirements. I highlighted some of my accomplishments:• Was deployed on numerous operations and exercises both domestically and overseas. Successfully led the maintenance team in attaining 100% aircraft launch rate in the Middle East area of operations for the ‘War Against Terrorism’ initiative over a 3-month period• Consistently surpassed aircraft servicing goals, including exceeding timeliness, quality and safety targets

As an Aircraft Technician, my main responsibility was to maintain and repair on AP3C-Orion Aircraft, including both operational and deeper maintenance (DM). Tasks included the diagnosis of electrical and mechanical issues, routine and special servicing on AP3C-Orion airframe and power plant systems, executing flight servicing of engines, aircraft frames and mechanical systems, and the inspection of aircraft on a maintenance schedule in order to prevent problems before they happen. In addition to traditional tasks, I also interpreted diagrams, drawings and specifications to assemble parts and sub-assemblies of aircraft frames and associated structures
