Responsible for leading an annual program for the entire NewsCorp organization to ensure comprehensive PCI compliance across all category 1 and category 2 applications and their associated assets. This effort involves a matrix-managed approach of both internal and external resources, each working to achieve compliance within its area of expertise. Details of the ongoing efforts include:o Conducting and documenting a comprehensive gap analysis of the current landscape for each NewsCorp business unit on an annual basis utilizing a prioritized approach.o Leading all remediation efforts to ensure and attain compliance.o Testing and approving each control to ensure the evidence provided meets the intent of the requirement and satisfies the payment brand.o Creating and annually updating all policies related to PCI, including but not limited to PCI Compliance; Acceptable Use; Information Security; Identity and Access Management; Change Control; Cloud Security Management; Mobile Device Management, Systems Security Management; and Encryption and Pseudonymization.o Managing descoping efforts to reduce the PCI footprint where appropriate.o Working with acquiring banks and payment brands to ensure compliance.Key Achievement under this programLed an 18-month effort for Dow Jones, a subsidiary of NewsCorp, with more than 40 in-scope PCI applications – 80% of which are hosted in the cloud. The initiative was put forward when Dow Jones was upgraded to a Level 1 merchant by the acquiring banks and requires greater scrutiny and rigor in reporting. The effort required the completion of the Report on Compliance (ROC) for each acquiring bank – a 300-page document attesting compliance as well as an attestation of compliance (AOC). The effort was successfully completed and accepted by all payment brands and their acquiring banks.
