As the initial point of contact for customers visiting the council I was able to demonstrate both people and customer service skills in order to promote the Council as a provider of excellent customer service and one which is professional and approachable. My other duties included resolving enquiries including face-to-face and via telephone and email as well as providing up-to-date and accurate information. I also handled some complaints which enabled me to further demonstrate my communication skills and which involved handling sensitive and confidential information. Ensuring adherence to the Data Protection Act and with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service liaised with customer, colleagues and other departments in order to meet the customers’ needs to the best of my ability.
