An a Founding 9th Grade English Teacher, my role and duties consist of: playing a key role in the establishment of curriculum and culture while developing a high quality education program from the stages of vision to execution. Additionally, due to the fact that my students deserve continuously strong teaching from the time they enter kindergarten until they graduate from college or begin a career, I work closely with each school’s leadership team to ensure my students learn, grow, and achieve transformative life outcomes. Along with this, I am responsible for ensuring that my students have the opportunity to learn in an environment of joyful, excellent, and equitable teaching. Above all else, in order for me to be the most effective English Language Arts Teacher, I always find joy and purpose in teaching my students the habits necessary to be successful in both life and school, and I appreciate the opportunity to cultivate my students with a love for learning. As an English Language Arts Teacher, I am expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program (Pre-AP English), in an in-person 9th learning environment, guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and socio-emotional potential. At KIPP Esperanza High School, we foster, challenge, and grow every aspect of our identities. As scholars, we develop habits and academic skills that are transferable to the job market, college, and in life. As members of our communities, we reflect on who we are, where we come from, and how we are all connected.
