Northeast India

Conducted an in depth analysis on the phenomenon of trafficking and migration across the northeast of India. In order to design an effective AHT intervention the research is aimed at understanding the social, geographical and legal context within which trafficking occurs.

Cambodia

Worked in partnership with another consultant to produce an in depth report outlining an innovative approach towards supporting Cambodian civil society.

Volunteer Recruitment – conducted advisory telephone calls to potential new volunteers, giving them advice and guidance on volunteering abroad. Volunteer Management – in consultation with overseas placement staff, I managed the selection of volunteer placement options, by carefully considering a volunteer’s skills and experience, and matching it to the needs of partner organisations. Other duties included developing marketing initiatives, building strategic partnerships, and organising a ‘careers in international development’ conference.

Cambodia

Partner Recruitment - I recruited and assessed 2Way Development’s partner organisations, including researching channels to build contacts in the NGO sector, as well as carrying out on site assessments. Opened up placement opportunities in Vietnam. Monitoring & Evaluation - conducted regular placement reviews with volunteers providing support and guidance where necessary. Volunteer Support – provided in-country support to volunteers throughout their placements. Literature Development: Wrote country fact sheets and maintained up-to-date information with regards to visa advice, accommodation, living costs, health facilities and security.

Cambodia

My primary role/responsibilities were to strengthen communication and secure funding. Tasks included searching for funding opportunities, proposal writing, liaising with donors, working closely with management on project outlines/budgets, as well as monitoring and evaluating existing community development projects. Furthermore, I developed new reintegration pathways and alternatives to permanent shelter care for beneficiaries. In collaboration with donor organisations I developed innovative enterprising solutions to donor dependency.
