As Community Engagement Lead with Purppl my role is to build deep relationships with social enterprises, social purpose organizations and community stakeholders while supporting Purppl coaches (EIRs) to ensure client success and social impact. I’m responsible for relationships with our many amazing social purpose clients and alumni, ensuring consistency and quality of the services we offer and finding ways to drive innovation, make connections, and build sustainable business models for increased social impact. I work alongside an incredible team of “Purppl People” to contribute to relationship building, program & service development, marketing and communications, and my goal is to support our changemaking clients to achieve measurable & growing impact across the wide range of complex social issues they are tackling.

2 separate contracts initially covering Mat Leave as Community Investment Manager and then returning to support Events and Special Projects. Worked closely with leadership to pivot the United Way events plan during Covid and to execute both virtual and adapted in-person events during the year. Developed connections with new corporate sponsors, donors and partner organizations to celebrate the 70th Anniversary year. In the community investment role, connected funds to local non-profit partners through various annual funding streams and careful investments, including support for social enterprise projects, with a focus on key social issues across all Southern Interior communities. Encouraged collaboration and communication across our non profit community. Involvement in strategic round tables & working groups on key social issues such as homelessness and poverty reduction.

Developed and launched an Irish Pub concept in a mountain ski resort as a complement to our existing European style Cafe & Restaurant, Globe Cafe & Tapas Bar.

Working for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Okanagan on fund development through grants, individual donors, sponsorships and events. Building community connections and raising profile of the agency in the education sector through collaborative development of local in-school mentoring program.

Managed the outsourced executive search & large scale recruitment services for public and private sector clients. Managed all business development activity and resource allocation. Assisted with the purchase and privatization process of large scale Government agency managing all central government recruitment campaigns including high profile graduate recruitment campaigns. Managed cultural & operational shift for a team of 120+ previous government employees into a private sector environment.
