Reported to the Olympic Region Manager and has region-wide administrative responsibilities for leading and managing three functional program areas: Wildfire Prevention and Suppression, Forest Practices, and the Olympic Corrections Center Offender Program. I managed a $6.4 million annual budget and assisted with creating performance measures and supporting my team to meet them.Within these program areas, also coordinated implementing agency policies and procedures and administrating regulations and contracts on approximately 1.5 million acres of public and private forestland within Olympic Region (Clallam, Jefferson, and north Grays Harbor counties).

Wrote and assisted with the process of writing new or replacing internal policies, procedures, and guidelines.Served as the Internal Control Officer (ICO) at a state agency with 1500 full time employees and an annual operating budget of $190 million.Appointed for coordinating the agency-wide effort of evaluating internal controls, reporting on reviews, and improving control activities to comply with the State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM).Coordinated the agency's annual risk assessment and internal control monitoring activities.Provided annual written assurance to the Commissioner of Public Lands.

Represented agency to forty statewide emergency management partners, administered a $220,000 biannual budget, evaluated and implemented new agency voice and text emergency notification system Wrote new agency contingency plan and executive management procedures. Modernized dissemination of plans for key managers by employing mobile/tablet technology Designed and led development of alternate emergency operations center, procured $25,000 in asset monitoring technology and facility improvements for agency senior leadership

Managed $300,000 budget, four staff, and over four hundred inmates as part of a DNR/DSHS/DOC program to provide firefighting job skills and rehabilitation for juvenile offenders Selected offender work crews, ensured appropriate training and credentials, and advocated for crew employment in wildland restoration and fire suppression efforts. Crews were deployed to twenty fires, planted 3,000 acres of new forestlands, and enacted silviculture practices on another 550 acres Wrote $200,000 in interagency agreements. Worked with local, state, and non-profit stakeholders to obtain reimbursement for crew work, creating a lasting, sustainable program

Directed 10-person inmate crew to successfully suppress fifteen fires and plant 1,000 acres of new forest for public school trust benefit Immediate supervision for crew member well-being.
